Then, in the latter part of 1990s, she started to act and dance professionally with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. Then, in Minnesota and at a local theatre, she was a selected to play a role in the mock documentary about beauty pageants called Drop Dead Gorgeous. After making her screen debut as a cute but serious contestant she moved into Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She also raised Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. The the actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a contract with MGM and started her career in film during the latter half of 1940s. Leigh was a star in a variety of popular films during the next decade, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954) with Martin Lewis.
